Somebody please tell me what is the meaning of consonant sounds. How do they sound like? I mean, I ve been asking many peeps around for the defination, however, the common answers i get is:
" Err, actually i dont teach english only maths and science...why not you look up the internet..its very advanced. you can hear the pronounciation of words!.."
"Ayia, I actually dont take note of the technical side of english, just listen and see if it sounds right lor.."
WARREN:"Consonant sounds are like you know.."uni" and thats when you use
an, while for umbrellas you use
a because its "um"...(3 sec pause)..eh look puma bag!"
DAD: "consonant sounds are like melodious...the opposite is resonant sounds..and resonant sounds sound rather jarring and unharmonious..you know like there are some music that are very jarring and crude//"
ME: " Erm..okay,back to the point..so when exactly do i make exceptions?"
DAD:"Actually, you just have to go with which sounds right I dont really care about the theory part..."
ME:"Erm, okay thanks..."
So you see, till now, not one soul can explain what resonant sounds are.I tried wiki but i gave up.
